Modernfold has made a sizable contribution to the Michael and Jean Knepper Child Care Center, a new daycare facility to be located in Dyersville’s 20 West Industrial Park. The facility will increase access to readily available, quality care for the local workforce and our own employees and their families.
This brand new, 17,500 square foot childcare center was built in partnership with personal and corporate donors such as Modernfold, the Dyersville Economic Development Corporation, and the Dyersville Area Community Foundation.
Scheduled to open in December 2024, the Center is expected to provide care for 250 area children with extended hours and bilingual services. It will include 13 classrooms, a multipurpose room, a gym, and playgrounds. The facility will be run by Kid Project, a tenured provider of childcare in Dyersville. “We are overwhelmed by the community support to expand childcare for Dyersville and the surrounding communities,” Sheila Tegeler, Dyersville Area Community Foundation board chair said of the new center. “We understand the great need for childcare services. Workforce development cannot happen without childcare for our kids.”
A groundbreaking was held in November. Since then, much progress has been made.
The project continues to fundraise to meet its goal of $6 million dollars. Once the goal is fully met, the Center will be debt free allowing it to offer affordable pricing to parents. Donations are being accepted online or at Fidelity Bank, the Innovation Lab or Dyersville Area Chamber of Commerce and DEDC offices.
“We are excited to be a part of this first-class facility and to help provide quality care for Dyersville families,” said Bryan Welch, Modernfold Managing Director. “Modernfold is a family, and we understand that we all succeed if we take care of each other and what we care about most.”
